Individual Counseling

in-person for Nebraska residents

telehealth for Nebraska and Illinois residents

I believe that our minds and bodies are capable of healing, but negative life experiences or trauma become the emotional weight that stops our healing. During sessions, I integrate talk-therapy (CBT and DBT techniques) with mind-body modalities, including Hypnosis, EMDR, and Brainspotting. I will collaborate with you to individualize your care so that you may live the peaceful life you deserve.

Hypnosis is a peaceful, easy way to get your mind and body relaxed during session. This is called being in "trance". It is easier to integrate what is discussed in session because when in trance, you are using the subconscious part of the brain, rather than the conscious part of the brain, meaning we are bypassing the overthinking, anxious, unfocused part of the brain, connecting to the part of the brain that needs the healing.

For more information: Read my Hypnosis Page

EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a treatment modality that was designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.

Brainspotting suggests "where you look affects how you feel" accessing the brain/body connection to release emotional and body trauma or pain.

Counseling Questions

How do I know if we are a good fit? You may schedule an *optional* free 15-minute consultation call or video call for us to meet and see if our personalities fit and if I have the knowledge to best help you. If at that time or any time during our time knowing each other you would like a referral to another provider, I am happy to help connect you.

What to Expect for my First Session: First session includes you sharing: 1. What brings you to therapy 2. Your goals or desired outcomes of therapy 3. Mental health symptoms, medications, past mental health treatment 4. General history of your life 5. Opportunity for you to ask me questions 6. To determine if we will work well together, if not, I will provide referrals. My job is to get you the best mental health services possible, whether by me or someone else.

How many sessions do I need? It varies for everyone. I ask clients to create goals, which helps us determine your discharge date once these are achieved. I believe mental health therapy is the same as physical health. If you are mentally functioning with few symptoms, your visits are sparse. When you have more symptoms, your visits are frequent.

May I see you if I live anywhere? No, I am licensed to provided mental health therapy in Illinois & Nebraska only.

Do I need medications? I do not prescribe medications. I believe there is a time and place for medicine and if I believe they are useful for you, I will discuss this. Regardless of what I recommend, you decide if that is what you need.
